Obituary of Marjorie Snell
Marjorie Ridgley Snell passed away at the Excel Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation on Tuesday morning, March 18, 2015. The beloved wife of the late Sidney Snell she was 90 years old. Marjorie was born in Somerville. She was one of 11 children born to the late Frederick and Marguerite. She was raised and educated in Cambridge. Marjorie and her husband Sidney moved to Burlington in 1965. She worked for a number of years at BF Goodrich and then worked at Lahey Clinic in Burlington until her retirement. Marjorie and Sidney enjoyed traveling together and took trips to visit his family in Virginia. Marjorie was a woman of deep faith and was a member of St. Mark’s Episcopal Church in Burlington. She sang in the Choir and was very involved in all aspects of the church. Her specialty was her fudge which she made for all the church events. Marjorie will be remembered as a loving and caring woman of deep faith who touched many lives.
Marjorie was the beloved wife of the late of the late Sidney Snell. She was the loving sister of Mildred Zingone of MD, Joan Sneed of Methuen, Maxine Lanouceur of VT, Frederick Ridgley of KY, William Ridgley of Lexington, John Ridgley of Dracut, Rev. Lawrence Ridgley of VT and the late Douglas Ridgley, Elaine Jenkins and Rowena Perkins. Also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends.
A Memorial Service will be held at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, 10 St. Mark’s Road, Burlington on Wednesday, March 25 at 10 a.m. Relatives & friends respectfully invited to attend. In lieu of flowers memorials in Marjorie’s name may be made to St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, 10 St. Mark’s Road, Burlington MA 01803.
