Obituary of Norma Tancreto
Norma J. (Menesini) Tancreto, a devoted wife and mother, passed away at her home on Monday, March 16, 2015. She was 91 years old.
Norma was born in Italy. She was the daughter of the late Gigi and Amelia Menesini. Her family immigrated to the United States and she was raised and educated in Boston. Norma and her husband Samuel settled in Burlington in 1970. She moved to Wilmington to live with her two sons Bob and John in 2004. Norma worked as a waitress at a number of local restaurants but her primary role in life was that of wife and mother. Her family always came first. She loved to cook and care for her home. Every meal with Norma like a Sunday meal which she prepared. She was a woman of deep faith and a long time parishioner of St. Margaret’s in Burlington. Norma was not one to sit idle. She enjoyed going to Foxwoods, playing cards and an occasional trip to the race tracks. Norma had a very special relationship with her children. As they would say to their friends their mom was a “great person, a great mother and a great friend.
Norma was the beloved wife of the late Samuel E. Tancreto. She was the loving mother of John of Wilmington, Robert of Wilmington and Cindy Cullen & her husband Michael of Monroe, CT. Sister of the late Lee Heinel and Sandy Montagna.
Funeral from the Edward V. Sullivan Funeral Home, 43 Winn St., BURLINGTON (exit 34 off Rt. 128, Woburn side) on Tuesday March 24th at 9 a.m. Followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Margaret’s Church at 10 a.m. Visiting hours Monday 6-8 p.m. Interment in Chestnut Hill Cemetery, Burlington. Memorials in Norma’s name may be made to St. Margaret’s Church, 111 Winn St., Burlington, MA 01803
