Obituary of Alice Milward
Alice E. (Sullivan) Milward passed away at the Heritage Skilled Nursing Center on Lowell on Wednesday, March 25, 2015. The beloved wife of the late Robert L. Milward, she was 89 years old.
Alice was born, raised and educated in the Maplewood Square section of Malden. Robert and Alice married and lived in Malden for a brief period before moving to Burlington where they would raise their children. Alice was a Supervisor at Transatron. Alice devoted her life to creating a loving home for her family and bringing up her children. Her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren were the center of her life. Alice loved spending time with her family whether it was a beach party, a trip to Florida, a family dinner or a holiday gathering. She had spent the last seven years at the Heritage Skilled Nursing Facility in Lowell where she had many friendships. Alice was an avid reader and shared her passion for reading with her many friends at the nursing home and encouraged them to read as well. Alice always enjoyed helping others, and took time to teach aerobics in the nursing home. Alice will be remembered as a warm and caring woman whose greatest joy in life was being with her family.
Alice was the beloved wife of the late Robert L. Milward. Loving mother of Judith Lascelles & her husband Louis of Dracut, Marilyn Jade & her husband Robert of Methuen, Bobbie-June Milward of Dracut and Marjorie Haynes & her husband Rick of Hudson, NH. Sister of the late Florence Cheverie and Ernest Sullivan. Proud grandmother of Angela & Nicholas Haynes, Rebecca Abbott & her husband Jeremy, Kellie Hanlon & her husband David, Bobby Menear, Stephen Jade & his wife Mary, and Kimberly Jade. Also survived by 3 great grandchildren, Sheri Hanlon, Amber Doucet & her husband Matt; and Madison Jade.
Funeral Services will be held at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, 10 St. Mark’s Road, Burlington on Wednesday, April 1 at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in Chestnut Hill Cemetery, Burlington. In lieu of flowers memorials in Alice’s name may be made to www.youcaring.com/AliceMilward or FirstBook.org.
