Obituary of Amelia Vitale
Amelia N. “Sis” (Barrasso) Vitale, passed away at the Wilmington Healthcare Center on Tuesday morning, April 14, 2015. The beloved wife of Raphael “Ralph” Vitale who passed away in 1969, she was 88 years old.
Amelia was born in Medford. She was raised and educated in Everett and was one of five children born to the late Ceriaco and Josephine Barrasso. Amelia worked at Stride Rite part-time and then went on to work as a waitress at the John Hancock Executive Dining room for over 15 years.
Amelia had great love for her family. She was a great cook with her specialties being pasta fagioli, chicken soup and meatballs. She was fortunate to have a close and special relationship with her grandchildren while babysitting them when they were little and living together for six years. She was blessed with the recent birth of her great granddaughter who was named after her.
Amelia was the beloved wife of the late Raphael “Ralph” Vitale. She was the loving mother of Ralph & his wife Denise of Billerica. Sister of Gerald Barrasso of Everett and the late Cecile Molle, Geraldine Langone and Joan Fandel. Proud grandmother of Brittany Turner & her husband Craig of Westford and Maryn Vitale of Billerica. Great Grandmother of Amelia Turner.
A Memorial Visitation will be held at the Edward V. Sullivan Funeral Home, 43 Winn St., Burlington on Saturday, April 18th from 10:30 a.m. – Noon concluding with Funeral Services at Noon. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Sis’s name may be made to Susan G. Komen Massachusetts Chapter, Donation Processing Center, 74 Batterson Park Rd., Farmington, CT 06032
