Obituary of Mark Connors
Mark M. Connors, a resident of Burlington since 1959, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Friday, April 24, 2015. The beloved son of the late John and Lillian Connors, he was 62 years old.
Mark was born in Stoneham. He was a 1971 graduate of Xavier High School in Concord. He went on to graduate with his Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration for Northeastern University in 1976.
Mark was employed in several Financial and Administrative positions throughout his work career, at companies that included Raytheon, Textron (AVCO), Itek Optical Systems and Cadence Design Systems. In 2001 he undertook a second career, a home-based self employment investing in and trading gold stocks through his brokerage, by means of the internet. The stock market has always been one of Mark’s active passions, and he dedicated himself to refining his interest and experience in the gold market. To the point where he was able to make a successful living at it.
Mark’s outside interests included many different sports. He was a big fan of the local sports teams – the Red Sox, Patriots and especially the Bruins for which he held season tickets during the early 1980’s. He enjoyed playing baseball, softball, hockey and was also an avid lifelong golfer. Mark was a member of the Stow Acres Country club since the late 1970’s where he made many friendships. He also enjoyed swimming and downhill skiing. Mark enjoyed the ocean, beaches, traveling along the coastlines, the mountains and also cooking and dining out for pleasure. He had a special interest in lighthouses. He loved animals, especially dogs as they loved him.
Mark was the beloved son of the late John J. & Lillian (Jensen). He was the loving brother of Laurie Silva & her husband Gary of Lexington. Uncle of Brian Silva of Lexington and Gary Silva & his wife Kerry of Woburn. Great Uncle of Gary & Kevin Silva of Woburn.
Funeral from the Edward V. Sullivan Funeral Home, 43 Winn St., BURLINGTON (Exit 34 off Rt. 128, Woburn side) on Tuesday, April 28th at 9 a.m. Followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Malachy’s Church, 99 Bedford St., Burlington at 10 a.m. Visiting hours Monday 5-8 p.m. Interment in Pine Haven Cemetery, Burlington. Memorials in Mark’s name may be made to the Perkins School for the Blind, Perkins Trust, 175 North Beacon St., Watertown, MA 02472.
