Obituary of Rosa Morello

Rosa (DiModico) Morello passed away at the Lexington Health Care Center on Tuesday morning, September 12, 2006. The wife of the late Giuseppe Morello, she was 83 years old. Rosa was born to Rosaria (Demico) and Gaetano DeModica. She was born in Augusta, Sicily, Italy. As a child she was taught how to sew and she grew up to be a seamstress. She married Giuseppi Morello and had two boys while living on Via Epicarmo, Italy. Rosa and Giuseppe moved their family to the United States in 1956 where their third son was born. The family settled in the North End until moving to Arlington where they lived for over 35 years. Rosa devoted her life to making a home for her husband and sons. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, and knitting. Rosa is the beloved wife of the late Giuseppe. She is the loving mother of Guy & his wife Kathleen of Arlington, Joseph of Billerica, and the late Rosario. She is the grandmother of Roseann, Michael, Ellen, Joseph, and Gilbert John Morello, Marie Donahue, and Rosalie Morello-Whitty. She is also predeceased by two sisters. Funeral services will be held at the Edward V. Sullivan Funeral Home, 43 Winn St., Burlington (Exit 34 off Rt., 128, Woburn side) on Friday, September 15 at 10 a.m. A visitation will be held prior to the service from 9-10 a.m. Interment in St. Michael’s Cemetery, Boston.
