Obituary of Rosemary Perry

Rosemary A. (Tiernan) Perry, at the age of 80, of Billerica passed away at the Lahey Hospital & Medical Center on Monday, May 4, 2015. Rosemary was born in Somerville on September 13, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Alfred and Mary Margaret (Brown) Tiernan, stepdaughter of the late Esther (Quinlan), and sister of the late Margaret. Rosemary grew up in Somerville and was a graduate of Somerville High School, class of 1952. Rosemary was a member of the American Legion since 1980 and served as a chaplain. She worked as an administrative assistant for Ocean Spray in Florida for 15 years before retiring. She was always willing to lend a helping hand and sympathetic ear to those in need. Devoted to her family and friends, she will be sadly missed by all who knew her. Rosemary was the beloved wife of Leland F. Perry, with whom she shared 61 years of marriage. She was the loving mother of Cheryl A. Perry of Las Vegas, NV, Donna M. Perry of Lexington, Mark L. & his wife Kerri of Malden, James F. & his wife Robin of Castleton, NY, Joseph G. & his wife Roxana of Canton, Mary B. Knox & her husband Michael of Burlington, and Kathleen M. Perry & her partner Ann Stephens of Minneola, FL. Grandmother of Laureen Alefantis & her husband John; Christine Nichols & her husband Joshua, Matthew Perry, Alyxe Perry, Bryce Perry, Olivia Perry, David Perry, Ryan Knox, and Kara Wright & her husband Christian. Great grandmother of Madelyn, Benjamin, Elizabeth & Samantha. Funeral from the Edward V. Sullivan Funeral Home, 43 Winn St., BURLINGTON (Exit 34 off Rt. 128, Woburn side) on Thursday, May 7 at 7:45 a.m. Followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Mary’s Church, 796 Boston Road, Billerica at 9 a.m. Visiting hours Wednesday 5-8 p.m. Interment in Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford. In lieu of flowers memorials in Rosemary’s name may be made to St. Theresa’s Church, 466 Boston Road, Billerica, MA 01821.
