Obituary of Elinor A Corbin
Elinor A. (Schaejbe) Corbin, passed away at the Fairhaven Health Center in Lowell of Monday morning, May 11, 2015. The beloved wife of the late Martin P. Corbin, she was 92 years old.
Elinor was born, raised and educated in Somerville. She was the daughter of the late Oscar and Agnes Schaejbe. Elinor and Martin settled in Winthrop where they would raise their children. Elinor devoted her life to raising her children and creating a loving home for her family. She was a talented seamstress with sewing being her favorite. She enjoyed playing bingo and spending an occasional day at Foxwoods. Elinor had a love of animals most especially dogs. She loved living in Winthrop and loved being close the ocean. Elinor was blessed to have four grandchildren that she was very proud of and see the birth of 7 great grandchildren. Elinor lived a life that spanned 92 years with many loving moments spent with her children and their families.
Elinor was the beloved wife of the late Martin P. Loving mother of Martin E. of Winthrop, Nancy Pondelli & her husband Ken of Burlington, Paul of Lexington and Joan of Hyde Park formerly of Winthrop. Sister of Robert Schaejbe of Somerville and David Schaejbe of Salem. Proud grandmother of Christina Flaherty of Westford, Laura Morrison of Billerica, Jennifer Scarpelli of Abington and David Corbin of Salem. Also survived by 7 great grandchildren.
A visitation will be held at the Edward V. Sullivan Funeral Home, 43 Winn St., BURLINGTON (Exit 34 off Rt. 128, Woburn side) on Friday, May 15 from 9 – 10 a.m. Followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Malachy Church, 99 Bedford St., Burlington at 10:30 a.m. Burial will be private.
