Obituary of Richard Lewis Dubbs

Richard Lewis Dubbs, a 32 year resident of Billerica passed away peacefully with his family at his bedside at the Merrimack Valley Hospice House on Sunday afternoon, May 17, 2015. He was 64 years old. Dick was born in Somerville. His family moved from Somerville to Burlington when he was in seventh grade. He was a graduate of Burlington High School, Class of 1970. He spent 40 years working for the Town of Burlington in the Water, Sewer, and Water Treatment Departments. In his leisure time he enjoyed fishing on the shores of Plum Island, camping, and occasionally playing cards with his friends. He enjoyed golfing, with his goal of beating his son-in-laws. Most of all he loved spending time with his 3 grandsons. He was also a member of the Billerica Elks. He was the devoted husband of 41 years of Karen L. (Giles) Dubbs. He was the loving father of Christina Ferrelli & her husband John of Tewksbury and Kathleen Straffin & her husband Rich of Dracut. He was the son of Florence “Flo” & the late Lewis “Louie” of Burlington. . Proud grandfather of James & Jack Straffin and Jacob Ferrelli. He was the brother of Louise Ganley & her husband Ron of Hooksett, NH and Donald of NH and brother-in-law of Eleanor Jackson of Morrisville, PA and the late Lee Jackson. Funeral from the Edward V Sullivan Funeral Home, 43 Winn St., BURLINGTON (Exit 34 off Rt. 128, Woburn side) on Thursday, May 21 at 8:45 a.m. Followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Mary’s Church, 796 Boston Road, Billerica at 10 a.m. Visiting hours Wednesday 4-8 p.m. Interment in Fox Hill Cemetery, Billerica.
