I express my deepest sympathy to Nick and the entire Nowell family on the passing of Randy. Randy was well respected by the Arlington Catholic High School community. I apologize personally for not being able to attend the wake as I was at my son's college graduation. Rest assured that our thoughts and prayers are with you.

I knew Randy from High School. My memories are of a quiet, thoughtful guy. He had a sly smile when a joke was made or he picked up something others missed.
I was fortunate to have caught up with Randy at a few events over the years. Still the sly smile and talk of family and sports. I also knew Randy from Face Book. I enjoyed following his life through photos and his humor.
My heart goes out to Laura, Justin, Nick and family -who I have never meet but know from the posts.
I will miss the Face Book stories but will always remember his kindness and that sly smile.

To the Nowell family – My heart reaches out to you today. We have lost a truly wonderful human being. I have known Randy since our high school days when Randy would be our designated driver – mainly because he was the only one with a car. I remember our many days of driving around Lexington with the radio blasting “Light My Fire” – we always wanted to hear the long version. Such wonderful years we had with all of our friends and not a care in the world. But even in those days, Randy always showed us the soul of a man well beyond his years - always caring and always willing to help. He was a friend you could rely on regardless of the situation.
While Randy and I were back in touch over the past few years, I did not know of his illness. That was just like Randy – never revealing too much of himself. But we all knew behind his exterior was a compassionate, bright, loyal and trustworthy friend. I have no doubt that he was also a wonderful husband and father. The last time I did speak with him – he was so proud of his family and seemed at peace and very content. I was so happy for him.
My thoughts are with your family today. May we rejoice Randy’s life and all that he gave us – he quietly affected everyone who knew him and he will be truly missed!
With my deepest of sympathy – Fran Pennell

Randy was my brother in law. Always kind, very funny, a great listener, smart, ready with a wisecrack when appropriate. He contributed alot to his community and I admired him for his contributions. We will miss him terribly. As Tiffany said, hoping every day in heaven is like a day in Bermuda (a place Randy really enjoyed)!
