He grew up in Medford and graduated from Medford Vocational Technical High School with the class of 1957. He was a hard worker all his life and was loved by all who met him. He started his early working years at a local market, bagging groceries and making deliveries. As time moved on, he went to work at Trailmobile, while he was taking night classes for his high pressure boiler license. When he obtained his boiler license, he worked a few nights a week for a company that serviced hospital boilers while he was working his full time job. He was a very mechanical and hands on person. Most of his life he worked as a fork lift mechanic, working for NITCO in Wilmington before he started his own forklift repair business, Minuteman Lift Truck Service. After retiring from the fork lift business, he worked for the Town of Framingham as a school bus driver.
George loved music, especially country. In his younger years, he would get together with friends and play guitar. He was a past member of the Woburn Kiwanis Club and assisted with many projects at their camp in Ashby, MA.
When his children were younger he always supported whatever endeavor they were pursuing, whether it was teaching them to swim or water ski when they were young to spending a day at a baton/majorette competition. This commitment continued with his grandchildren. He could be seen on the side lines of a soccer game, a baseball game, at an annual dance recital or a skating competition. He enjoyed cruising and traveling with his family in his RV to New England campgrounds and trips to Virginia Beach, Gettysburg, Pennsylvania and a couple trips to Hershey Pennsylvania with his grandchildren.
