Obituary of Lorraine Yarnell

Lorraine A. (Bowren) Yarnell, passed away at the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center after a brief illness, on May 31, 2015, the beloved wife of Lawrence “Larry” she was 76 years old. Lorraine was born in Boston. She was the daughter of the late Mary (Murphy) Harding and Lloyd Bowren. Stepdaughter of Arthur Harding, Sr. Lorraine was a graduate of Belmont High School. She lived many years in Burlington before she and Larry settled in Hyde Park to raise their two children. Lorraine had a love of the theatre and it was while working at a local theatre as a young adult that she met her future husband Larry. They would have celebrated their 47th Wedding Anniversary in July. Lorraine loved to dance. Whether it was Ballroom or Square Dancing a night out dancing was one of her favorite things to do. She was also a talented seamstress. Lorraine and Larry took many trips to California and Florida to visit their children. They also enjoyed taking weekend trips throughout New England. Lorraine was a devout Catholic and was a member of various church choirs and folk groups through the years. She took great joy in being a grandmother to her granddaughter Wallis and loved to shop for her and send gifts to California! Lorraine was the beloved wife of Lawrence “Larry”. Loving mother of Scott Yarnell & his wife Christina LaCerda of CA and Mari Yarnell of FL. Sister of Arthur H. Harding, Jr. & his wife Pam of FL and Susanne Lynch & her husband John of Burlington. Devoted and proud grandmother of Wallis. Also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends. A Memorial Mass will be held at St. John Chyrsostom Church, 4750 Washington St., West Roxbury on Saturday, July 11th at 10 a.m. Relative & friends respectfully invited to attend. In lieu of flowers memorials in Lorraine’s name may be made to the Animal Rescue League of Greater Boston, 55 Anna’s Place, Dedham MA 02026
