Obituary of Marie Welch
Marie (Tosi) Welch, a resident of Burlington for 46 years, passed away unexpectedly at her home on Sunday afternoon, February 18, 2007. The devoted wife of the late Raymond J. Welch who passed way in 1996, she was 80 year old.
Marie was born in Cambridge, the daughter of the late Primo and Louise Tosi. She was raised and educated in North Cambridge. She was a graduate of St. John’s School and Cambridge High and Latin.
Marie worked at Polaroid for over 40 years as a Film Inspector. She worked at Polaroid’s Cambridge and Waltham facilities. She was an avid shopper and enjoyed going to yard sales as well as browsing in the local department stores. Although Marie did not have any children, she was always surrounded by family. Her late sister, Julia Landry was her best friend. They purchased their homes next door to each other at the same time 46 years ago. They worked together at Polaroid. Julia was there to help Marie in her times of need as was Marie was there for Julia over the years. Marie was one of 8 children and had many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews who loved her dearly. They will remember her for her love for them and her easygoing happy personality. Marie will be deeply missed.
Marie is the beloved wife of the late Raymond J.Welch. She is the loving sister of the late Julia Landry, Lena Maccini, Evelyn Guadabasso, Louis, James, Joseph, and Lawrence Tosi. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great nieces & great nephews.
Funeral from the Edward V. Sullivan Funeral Home, 43 Winn St., BURLINGTON (Exit 34 off Rt. 128, Woburn side) on Thursday, Feb. 22 at 8 a.m. Followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Malachy’s Church, 99 Bedford St., Burlington at 9 a.m. Visiting hours Wednesday 4-8 p.m. Interment in Pine Haven Cemetery.
