Obituary of Evangeline Gallagher

Evangeline Grace Gallagher, a resident of Chicopee and a former resident of Burlington, passed away at the Bay State Medical Center on Thursday evening, Feb. 22, 2007. She was 80 years old. Evangeline was born in North Brookfield, MA. She was one of seven children born to the late William and Althea Gallagher. She was raised in the Denmark area of Maine before moving to Burlington with her family. She moved to Burlington to finish her high school education. She was a graduate of the Burlington High School Class of 1944, which had a total of 17 graduates. She was also the Class Essayist. Evangeline worked for over 20 years at Package Machinery in East Long Meadow where she worked as a secretary to the Controller of the company. She loved the ocean and enjoyed taking rides to York Beach in Maine. Evangeline was the daughter of the late William and Althea Gallagher. She is the sister of Helen Scott, and the late Charles Hale, Walter Hale, Violet Graham, Belle Reed and Bessie Sawyer. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be held at the Edward V. Sullivan Funeral Home, 43 Winn St., BURLINGTON (Exit 34 off. Rt. 128, Woburn side) on Wednesday, Feb. 28 at 11:30 a.m. A visiting hour will be held one hour prior from 10:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. Interment in Chestnut Hill Cemetery, Burlington.
