Obituary of James Mongiello

James “Jamie” Mongiello, a Project Manager at MIT Lincoln Labs, passed away after a long struggle with cancer on Monday evening, August 10, 2015. He was 51 years old. Jamie was born in Stoneham and was a lifelong resident of Burlington. He was a 1983 graduate of Burlington High School. He has worked for the past 17 years at MIT Lincoln Labs as a project manager in the Micro Electronics Lab at Hanscom Air Force Base in Bedford. He enjoyed the many challenges in his field, his coworkers, and that his work truly helped in our country’s national defense. Jamie was a big music fan and a collector of memorabilia. He was a faithful follower of Aerosmith, the Beatles, and the Monkees. He loved going to see his favorite bands in concert. He had a large collection of music, photographs, and souvenirs that he proudly displayed in his home. He also collected baseball cards and comic books. He was a loyal Bruins fan as well. He enjoyed the time spent with his family and the special bond he had with his 2 nephews and niece. Jamie was the loving son of Enrico Mongiello & his companion, Marianne of Topsfield and the late Barbara McManamin. He was the brother of the late John Mongiello and Judith Ann Bernoth. Brother-in-law of Steven Bernoth of Billerica. He was the proud uncle of Jeffrey Bernoth & his fiancé, Rachel, of Tewksbury, Robert and Rachel Bernoth of Billerica. Jamie was also survived by his best friend; Eric Smith of Burlington. Graveside services will be held at Pine Haven Cemetery, Bedford St., Burlington on Friday, August 14 at 11 a.m. Visiting hours will be held at the Edward V. Sullivan Funeral Home, 43 Winn St., BURLINGTON (exit 34 off Rt. 128/95, Woburn side) on Thursday from 5-9 p.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited.
