Obituary of Rudolph Krueger
Rudolph (Rudy) O. Krueger, 79, of Wolfeboro (NH), died peacefully surrounded by his loving family, on August 18, 2015.
Rudy was born in Wauwatosa, WI, to Emilie (Roessler) and Paul Krueger. Rudy grew up in Milwaukee, WI and graduated from Boys Technical High School and the Milwaukee School of Engineering. During his youth, he enjoyed building and operating ham radios. Following his college graduation, Rudy joined the Navy and was assigned to the aircraft carrier U.S.S. Lake Champlain where he worked in radar until his honorable discharge in 1960. He met his sweetheart, Barbara Wilson, while in the Navy and they were married for 55 years. They raised their four children in Tewksbury, MA before relocating to Wolfeboro, NH.
Rudy was an engineer at Honeywell Corporation in Brighton, Lawrence and Billerica, MA for many years. He was an active member of the British Car Club of NH, The MGT Register, the Lakes Region Photography Club and he regularly volunteered in the Wolfeboro community. He was a member of the Wolfeboro Historical Society and he helped to build the Historical Society’s antique barn. He and his wife belonged to the Newcomer’s Club of Wolfeboro. Rudy loved to tinker with and share his passion and knowledge for restoring old British cars. He will be remembered for his happy disposition and his patience, compassion, generosity, sense of humor, as well as his mechanical and engineering prowess.
Rudy was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He leaves his wife, Barbara (Wilson), of Wolfeboro; four children, son Eric Krueger and his wife, Tina, of Nashua, NH; daughter Janet and her husband Nathan Matsubara of Burlington, MA; son Kurt Krueger and his wife, Aimee, of Chelmsford, MA; and son, Karl Krueger and his wife, Judy, of Chester, NH. In addition, Rudy leaves 12 grandchildren whom he cherished and loved immensely, three dear brothers: Richard, Kurt and Dennis, and many much loved nieces and nephews. Rudy was predeceased by his parents and two brothers, Paul and Walter.
Calling hours will be held from 3-6pm on Saturday, August 22, at the Sullivan Funeral Home, 43 Winn St, Burlington, MA. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, August 23 at 1:00pm at Aldersgate United Methodist Church, 242 Boston Rd, Chelmsford, MA. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. Burial will be private.
