Obituary of Margaret Firmani

Margaret P. (Frith) Firmani, a woman who devoted her life to her family, passed away at the North Shore Medical Center Salem Hospital, following a brief illness, on Saturday, October 3, 2015. The beloved wife of Antonio Firmani, she would have celebrated her 78 birthday on October 23rd. Margaret was born, raised and educated in Lake District of England. She was the daughter of the late Stanley and Dorothy Frith. When Margaret was in her late teens her family moved to Australia. It was there that she would meet her future husband Antonio. Margaret and Antonio married and welcomed the birth of their first daughter Licia while living in Australia. They decided to move to the United States and in 1961 they took a journey by ship that took 44 days. They lived for a period of time in Malden before settling in Burlington. Margaret worked as a Sales Rep in various industries throughout her life. Her home and family were the center of her life and she enjoyed gardening and cooking. Margaret enjoyed traveling and had visited such destinations as Italy, California, Washington and many of the New England States. Her favorite destination was the White Mountains of New Hampshire because it reminded her of her home in England. Margaret had a wonderful marriage to her husband Antonio and a very close relationship with her two children. Margaret was the beloved wife of 58 years of Antonio “Tony”. She was the loving and proud mother of Licia Amalia Firmani and Pietro Firmani both of Burlington. Sister of Stanley Kelvin Frith & Dorothy Frith both of Australia. Funeral from the Edward V Sullivan Funeral Home, 43 Winn St., BURLINGTON (Exit 34 off Rt. 128, Woburn side) on Thursday, Oct. 8 at 9 a.m. Followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Margaret’s Church, 111 Winn St., Burlington at 10 a.m. Visiting hours Wednesday 5-8 p.m. Burial will be private.
