My deepest sympathies to the Curtin family for the loss of Jim. I'm Julie's friend (college roommate) and I wish I lived closer so that I could have attended.

How very happy I am that my children were able to experience such wonderful teachers and coaches . They all accepted the challenge involved in being a role model . Burlington had such child oriented families that exceeded the phrase "it takes a village to raise a child ". The Curtin family was a key factor in that village . Jim , thank you for your many kindnesses , your many ,many hours of teaching and coaching so many of today's adults who can say " I was taught and / or coached by Mr Curtin .
Your children will look and see many mannerisms of you in their children and smile in fond remembrance of you .
Anyone who watched Burlington baseball will smile at the memories of those hours spent at "that baseball field with the uphill right field and the unbelievable games coached by Mr . Curtin ! "

Mrs. Curtin and family, please accept the sincere condolences of the entire Monaco family. Jim will always be a true legacy in Burlington, as both a coach and an educator. His talents in both areas will be remembered forever by us, because of his positive influence. In addition, he had a kind heart, whether in the classroom, on the field, or randomly wherever you would run into him. He always asked about everyone, and remembered their challenges. We are very sad that he has passed, but very thankful for the many years he spent working with the young people in our community. Sincerely, Chris, Frank, Susan, Maureen, Betsey, and Paul

We were so sad to hear of Jim's passing.I played for Jim from 1964-1966 He was a great coach and showed me how to play the game. Everyone who played for Jim learned much. He never forgot a name. Jim also coached my son over 20 years after I graduated. I would always see Jimat the mall. He always lit up and said hi to both me and my wife by name. It was great to see him so happy at his retirement party with his family and all his players throughout the years. Jim will be missed

My sincere condolences to Judy Curtin and all the Curtins. Words don't adequately describe Jim's value to my life. For 46 years he was my mathematics department head. His love for his family and his people really shined brightly. Thank you for the many many good years of being a wonderful boss and a great friend. I can never forget you coming into my hospital room in the late 1980's with your care and words of wisdom. Thanks for all you have done for me, for Eric, and for Pam. Ed Chapdelaine
