Obituary of Mary Ellen Gorman
Mary Ellen (Connolly) Gorman, a resident of Burlington for 31 years, passed away at the Kindred North East Specialty Hospital in Waltham on Saturday morning, March 10, 2007. The wife of Henry T. Gorman, Jr. she was 64 years old.
Mary Ellen was born, raised and educated in Newton. She was a graduate of Fisher Secretarial School. Mary Ellen was employed at Sylvania/GTE as a secretary for over 20 years prior to her retirement. She had a passion for sailing. Mary Ellen and her husband owned a sailboat called the “Black Rose” and were members of the Old Colony Yacht Club in Dorchester. After their retirement Mary Ellen and Henry would spend their summers sailing the coast up to New Jersey and Canada. She also enjoyed traveling and had taken trips throughout the United States, the Caribbean and Europe. Mary Ellen was a loving and caring woman. The two most important parts of Mary Ellen’s life was her faith in God and her family.
Mary Ellen is the beloved wife of Henry T. Gorman, Jr. She is the loving mother of Henry T. Gorman, III & his wife Lynne of Milford, NH, Judith Gorman of Roslindale, Nanci Gorman of Lynn, Michael Gorman of Roslindale, and Marybeth & her husband Joseph O’Neil of Methuen. She is the daughter of Mary A. Foley of Waltham and the late William Connolly. Sister of the late William Connolly. She is the grandmother of Lauren Naugle, Michael Ellis, Robert Ellis, Anthony Votano, Patrick O’Neil and Nicholas O’Neil. Funeral from the Edward V. Sullivan Funeral Home, 43 Winn St., BURLINGTON (Exit 34 off Rt. 128, Woburn side) on Wednesday. March 14 at 8 a.m. Followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Margaret’s Church, 111 Winn St., BURLNGTON at 9 a.m. Visiting hours Tuesday from 4-8 p.m. Interment in Chestnut Hill Cemetery, Burlington.
