Obituary of Anna Cosgrove
Anna (Biggin) Cosgrove, a retired Administrative Assistant, passed away at the Lahey Hospital & Medical Center, on December 14, 2015. The beloved wife of the late John R. Cosgrove who passed away in 1999, she was 92 years old.
Anna was born, raised and educated in Cambridge. She was the daughter of the late John and Nora Biggin. Anna and John moved to Burlington in 1960. She worked as an Administrative Assistant for Boston & Maine Railroad and then for McLean Hospital where she retired from. Anna was an extremely independent woman. She led a very full and active life and had many interests. Anna enjoyed traveling with a few of her favorite destinations being Ireland which she visited a number of times, Niagara Falls and Cape Cod. She was an active member of the Burlington Council on Aging where she made many friendships. Anna also enjoyed playing Bingo at the Billerica Elks on Wednesdays. She was blessed to have a wonderful relationship with her nieces and nephews. She spent all holidays and special events with them. When Anna’s health began to decline her nieces and nephews lovingly supported her making sure that she remained in her home that she loved.
Anna was the beloved wife of the late of John. She was the loving aunt of Joan O’Connell, Mary-Lynn Parenteau, Judith Mckenna, Jane Egan, Karen Johnson, Timothy Jr, Daniel, Barry & Robert Cosgrove and the late Elizabeth Pilato, Ann Pappas, Kevin & Stephen Cosgrove. Also survived by many great and great great nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held at the Edward V. Sullivan Funeral Home, 43 Winn St,. BURLINGTON (Exit 34 off Rt. 128, Woburn side) on Saturday Dec. 19 from 10:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. Followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Malachy Church, 99 Bedford St. Burlington at Noon. Interment in Pine Haven Cemetery, Burlington. Memorial’s in Anna’s name may be made to the Council on Aging, 61 Center St., Burlington, MA 01803
