Obituary of Jeffrey Nelson Lane
Jeffrey Nelson Lane, 70, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 29, 2016 surrounded by his loving family. Jeff was born on April 10, 1945 to the late Richard Kinney Lane and Priscilla Colson Lane in Needham, Massachusetts. He attended Needham High School before attending Wentworth Institute of Technology. He served in the United States Air Force, stationed in Thailand during the Vietnam War.
Jeff and Anne (Skidmore) were married on October 18, 1975 and moved to Burlington in 1976, where they would raise their two children. He worked at Tufts Medical Center in Boston for close to 30 years as a HVAC technician.
In his past time, he enjoyed downhill skiing, water skiing, and boating. Jeff spent his summers vacationing in Moultonborough, NH on Lake Winnipesaukee, where he enjoyed many memorable moments with his family and friends. He was also a car enthusiast and had a particular passion for antique cars.
Jeff is survived by his loving wife Anne (Skidmore) of 40 years, his brother Richard Kinney Lane, Jr. of Mountain View, CA, his son Jeffrey Nelson Lane, Jr. and his wife Allison of Cambridge, MA, his daughter Jennifer Lane Black and her husband Christopher of Andover, MA, and his five grandchildren, Olivia and Ava Lane, and Christopher, Julia, and Audrey Black.
Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, February 2 from 5-8 pm at Edward V. Sullivan Funeral Home in Burlington, MA. Funeral services to be held at Trinity Lutheran Church in Chelmsford, MA on Wednesday, February 3 at 11 am. Interment to be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the Bedford VA Research Corp. (BRCI), c/o GRECC, 200 Springs Road, Bedford, MA 01730.
