Dear Sue, Bob, Greg, Chris, and all of Brad's family,
I wanted to let you know how very sorry I am for your loss. I have been praying for all of you since I heard about Brad's passing. I know nothing I say can help ease your pain, but I do want you all to know that you are being thought of by so many of us. Sue, you and I spoke about addiction and how helpless we feel as mothers. I just want you to know that you couldn't have done anything to change what happened. Addiction is stronger than anything we can do or say. Unfortunately, it's even stronger than a Mother's love. I do know one thing, because I know you, and that is that Brad knew how much you all loved him even when it had to be "tough love". He knew you loved him and he knew you cared. I wish you all strength and peace to help you through this.
