I will always remember Mr Mel Friedman and how good he treated his employees. Hyperion was my very first job while I was in high school and I remember how kind he was to allow the flexible hours for me to work. I remember Emma so well and how hard they both worked. I have the fondest memories of how Emma would make me laugh. She was so warm hearted and witty. The last time I saw you Emma, you were with Mel and it was in Waltham back in the mid 90s.
I did not know of his passing but my thoughts, prayers and memories are with you Emma and Mary. May you rest in peace Mr Friedman.

I worked at Hyperion from 1967 to 1994, with a hiatus for service with the US Army.
I worked as a technician and then went into engineering. Mel was a taskmaster but he was always willing to share his knowledge and lend support when you were foundering on a problem. He was knowledgeable in many fields and I used to enjoy talking to him after hours about world affairs. He was always willing to talk to you on any subject.
Hyperion Industries gave a lot of people dependable employment for a lot of years, it was hard to see the new owners run it into the ground in 1994.
I regret not learning about his death in a timely manner and not being able to attend his services. I remember him fondly to this day and I know a lot of people feel the same way.
