Obituary of Michael W. Brady
Michael W. Brady lost his year-long battle with cancer on Saturday morning, September 30, 2017. He was 62 years old.
Michael was raised in Burlington and subsequently spent all his life in Burlington as well. He worked hard as a plasterer for many years and enjoyed the work he created with his hands.
Michael was a man who loved the outdoors. He enjoyed the “old school” way of camping, with a tent for sleeping and a campfire for cooking meals. He was a strong man who loved boating, kayaking and fishing. The campgrounds along the rivers of the White Mountains, and the lakes of Maine and New Hampshire, were among some of his favorite destinations. He owned several boats over the course of his lifetime and was truly happiest when driving along the top of the open water. His love for nature may have started as a child when his family spent their vacations at York Beach, Maine. He was strong and independent, never wanting to burden his family or friends. He was a longtime member of the Burlington American Legion Post 273 where he had many good friends and supported all the Veteran’s charities. He loved his daughters and grandchildren. He was a devoted son and a caring brother and uncle. He was a good friend. He was so well loved that he will never be forgotten.
Michael was the beloved father of Lisa Taylor & her husband Shawn of Fitchburg & St. Petersburg, FL. and Leah Hartung & her husband Cole of Methuen. He was the loving son of Barbara Brady & the late George of Woburn, formerly of Burlington. He was the proud grandfather of Aaron, Ajay, Abigale & Asher. He was the loving brother of David & his companion Jeannie Deprizio of Woburn, Debra O’Neil & her husband Edward of Billerica and Stephen & his wife Susan of Pepperell.
