I was sorry to hear of Danny's passing. I am a member of the K of C and Danny was always there to support his brother Joe as Joe progressed through the leadership of the organization. He was always quick with a joke or a story to tell. I used to see him at the softball fun league games every Thursday night. He was a good and decent man who would help anyone one he could. That is how I will remember him. May he rest in peace.

Our deepest sympathy in your great sorrow..
I, too, enjoyed Somerville High baseball teams, and especially Coach Barney Curtin.
I will always remember Dan and the other team members.
May he rest in peace.

I want to extend my deepest sympathy to Christine. I knew Danny since I was 4 years old and came to this country. We lived on the second floor and Danny and his parents lived on the first floor. I remember Danny always loving baseball and he used to give me baseball cards. After we moved from Calvin Street my parents remained friends with the Avilas for many years . We moved to Cambridge but always remained friends with them. When I grew up and eventually moved to Burlington I visited them here. I saw his brother Joe at the K of C in Burlington and also saw Danny there. I have many great memories of the Avilas and being their neighbor in Somerville.
I remember when you were born Christine and remember your father Tony and your mother Frances very well.
May Danny rest in peace and may God have mercy on his soul.
With Sympathy

Dan will always be remembered with a cigar, a smile, a joke, and cookies for the neighborhood dogs. We will miss him. However, we thank God he is free of the pain that has been his life for the past years. Thank you Christine for being there for Dan throughout his illness.
