Barbara, I am so sorry to hear of the loss of your father. He was such a great guy. I remember seeing him and your mom on the many stops at your home on our way out, at church, at the 99s; they always made time to talk and visit and always with smiles. Your Dad had such a warmth to him, he was a pleasure to be around. I know he must have been a terrific grandfather to your girls.
Mrs. MacDonald, you were a wonderful couple. It was easy to see how much you enjoyed each other's company. I am truly sorry for your loss.
My thoughts and prayers are with you all.

Uncle George, I will never forget your kindness and humor. As I left Texas to begin my career in Boston, you made my transition so much easier. I remember how you educated me on how to use the "T," and gave the most exquisite, accurate directions ever to any locale in Beantown, a city which frankly, intimidated the heck out of me at the time. To this day, if my husband Ed and I are lost somewhere, we joke to ourselves about how we need someone like George to tell us how to get there! My father Steve Shelvey greatly valued his relationship with you as a brother inlaw and thought the world of you.
To Aunt Anna and Barbara, I know the loss of such a wonderful husband and father is devastating. I pray that you are able to find some moments of peace, and I pray that George holds your hands and walks with you through this very sad time.

Barbara and family,
I am deeply sorry for your loss. I know how close you always were to both your Dad and Mom. I remember some of the great stories you had about your Dad, like how meticulous he was in cleaning the grout with a toothbrush! And what a great sense of humor he had! You inherited your love of travel from your Dad and had great opportunities to enjoy life with them. Please know my most sincere sympathies are with you and your family.
Love,
Mary

George, we will all miss you. Along with Anna, you were the consumate host and holiday entertainer. The family is forever grateful for all the wonderful memories.
After being out to dinner with the girls, I always loved sitting with you, Anna and Mary at your dining room table and talking to the wee hours of the morning. That's where I absorbed so much of the family history.
"Because of You" was always your song for Anna. However, because of you our family was better.
