Uncle Freddie (& Family)
What I remember most when I think of you and your family are the Christmases we shared. So many of my early memories of Christmas are of the Christmas Open House at your Burlington home each Christmas Day. At the time, I always looked up to my (much cooler &) older cousins who were always very attentive to their younger (less cool) cousins – and let us watch MTV with them (I have long remembered that my first time watching the MTV rocket blast off into space was one Christmas with my cousins).
As I grew into adulthood what I came to appreciate and marvel at was the extended network of people from all generations and backgrounds who gathered with you and yours each Christmas. You welcomed all comers with warmth and wit. The size and success of these open houses was testament to the family you built, the home away from home you provided to your children’s friends and the broad collection of friends you and Aunt Betty made.
God bless you and keep you.

I never had occasion to meet you personally . . . but your son Fred is a very good friend of my son, Jay. Jay tells me what a remarkable man Fred is . . .and as a parent I know this is a trait past from father to son. I know you will be missed by Fred.
