I had the pleasure of working with Phyllis for 10 years at Infinite. More often than not it was her job to fix the messes that I made of printed circuit boards that I thought that I could fix by myself. She and I spent a lot of time talking to each other, as we didn't usually leave our work area during breaks. When my children were born she took almost as much interest in them as my Mother did. And when she told Jack that I was thinking about starting a model train set-up for my son, Ricky, he made a lot of HO train equipment available to me at his cost. Of course it's all still in boxes in the attic, but how did we know he'd rather read a book than play with trains?
I don't know how many of her children remember me and my wife Mary, but I like to think that for those 10 or 12 years Phyllis and Jack were like family to us and we to them. I'm sorry that we lost contact over the years, and especially that we didn't show up when Jack passed on. I sincerely hope that they are together again and in that part of heaven that is called Ireland.
