Obituary of Christopher Burt

Christopher J. Burt, a devoted husband and father, passed away unexpectedly at the Lahey Clinic Medical Center on Saturday evening, May 8, 2010. The beloved husband of Lorraine (Hebert) he was 57 years old. Chris was born in Lowell. He was the son of the late Donald and Olga Burt. He lived in Lowell until he was 8 years old and his family moved for a period of time to New York. They then returned to Massachusetts and Chris graduated from Whitman High School. Chris and his wife Lorraine settled in Burlington 21 years ago where they raised their two children. He had a successful career as a Carpenter working for over 15 years at Schofield’s in Melrose. Chris was a talented craftsman and there wasn’t a project he wouldn’t tackle. He enjoyed working outside in his yard. Chris was very proud of his two children and was a fixture at all their sporting events. He would attend his son Adam’s football games and his daughter Danica’s track and cross country events. He was a fan of all the Boston sports teams with the New England Patriots being his favorite team to follow. Chris loved animals most especially his two golden retrievers. Chris was a loving husband, father, brother and friend who will be deeply missed. Chris was the beloved husband of Lorraine (Hebert). He was the loving father of Adam and Danica both of Burlington. Chris was the brother of Patricia Scott of Binghamton, NY and the late Thomas Burt. A Memorial wake will be held at the Edward V. Sullivan Funeral Home, 43 Winn Street, Burlington (Exit 34 off Rt. 128, Woburn side) on Wednesday, May 12 from 4 – 8 p.m. Relatives and friends respectfully invited to attend. Funeral Services will be private. In lieu of flowers memorials in Chris’s name may be made to the Burt Family Fund, c/o Citizens Bank, 40 Mall Road, Burlington, MA 01803.
