Obituary of Eileen Shea

Eileen H. Shea, a long time resident of Burlington, passed away on Saturday morning, September 1, 2012. She was 85 years old. Eileen was born in Cambridge, the daughter of Irish immigrants, the late James and Bridget Clifford. She grew up and was educated in Somerville She worked as a book keeper at the Old Colony Bank and Bank of Boston. She had been a resident of Burlington for over 50 years. She had a strong Catholic Faith and was a longtime volunteer driver at the Burlington Community Life Center. Eileen was the beloved wife of the late Attorney Charles Shea. She was the loving mother of Charles L. Shea of Burlington, Brian Patrick Shea & his wife Janet of Lowell, Maureen E. Doyle & her husband Stephen of Woburn, Michael Shea of Dorchester, the late Patricia M. and James J. Shea. She was the mother-in-law of Sharon Shea of Coral Springs, FL. She was the sister of Cathleen Gorman of Tewksbury, Geraldeen Lehman of Medford, the late James J. Clifford and Maureen Clifford O’Brien. Eileen was also survived by many grandchildren and great grandchildren. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Margaret’s Church, 111 Winn Street, Burlington on Wednesday, Sept. 5 at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Interment will be private and there will be no visitation. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Eileen’s name may be made to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen Street, Framingham, MA 01701.
