Obituary of William Anthony
William “Bill” Charles Anthony, beloved husband of Kathleen (Howard) and father to Jacob, Molly and Michael, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Sunday morning, October 3, 2010 at the age of 42.
Bill was born and raised in Burlington, Massachusetts. He was the son of the late David Sr. and Frances Anthony and is survived by his brother David Jr. Bill had a very successful 15 year career working for Federal Express. Bill loved his job driving a tractor trailer. He had a passion for trucks and loved competing. He belonged to the American Trucking Association as well as the Massachusetts Motor Trucking Association. On May 13, 2010 he was honored as runner-up Driver of the Year. While representing Fed Ex, Bill placed 1st in his class at the MMTA Driving Competition several times as well as 3rd in the Nationals in 2007. He also shared his love of trucks by participating in charity events to benefit organizations such as St. Jude’s.
Bill loved riding his Harley, his yearly trip to Laconia and camping with friends. Bill was huge fan of music and loved to play the guitar. In the words of his children “he rocked our world.”
His wife Kathy and his three children were the center of his life. He was a hands on dad that supported them in their interests, activities, and sports. His sudden death leaves a huge void in the lives of his family and friends.
Funeral Services will be held at the Burlington Presbyterian Church, 335 Cambridge St., Burlington, on Friday, October 8 at 10 a.m. Visiting hours will be held at the Edward V. Sullivan Funeral Home, 43 Winn St., BURLINGTON (exit 34 off Rt. 128, Woburn side) on Thursday from 4-8 p.m. Interment in Pine Haven Cemetery, Burlington. In lieu of flowers donations in Bill’s name may be made to the Anthony Children’s Scholarship Fund, c/o Northern Bank & Trust Co., 13 Center St., Burlington, MA 01803.
