Obituary of Maureen Hearn
Maureen A. (Conroy) Hearn, a resident of Burlington for 50 years, passed away at her home after a brief illness, on Saturday morning, April 2, 2011. The wife of the late Kenneth F. Hearn, Jr. she was 74 years old.
Maureen was born, raised and educated on Martha’s Vineyard. She was the daughter of the late Charles and Agnes Conroy. Maureen met her husband Kenneth, who was also from Martha’s Vineyard, while in High School. They both went on to separate colleges and ended up marrying and settling in Burlington. Maureen went to Catherine LaBoure School of Nursing in Boston where she received her Nursing Degree. She then went on to graduate from Emmanuel College in Boston with a B. S. in Public Health. Maureen had a successful career as a Nurse working for New England Rehabilitation Hospital in Woburn for over 25 years retiring at the age of 65. While at the Woburn Rehab, Maureen held the positions of Nursing Supervisor and Director of Infectious Disease Control. Maureen loved spending time on Martha’s Vineyard with her children and family. She also enjoyed travelling with her friends. Maureen’s family was the most important part of her life. Her life centered around her children and their families. Maureen was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.
Maureen was the beloved wife of the late Kenneth F. Hearn, Jr. She was the loving mother of Lisa Riedel & her husband William of North Andover, Lori Hearn of Burlington, Beth Mello & her husband Robert of Reading, David Hearn of Vineyard Haven, and Kara Miele & her husband Michael of Reading. Sister of Charles & Paul Conroy both of Martha’s Vineyard. Devoted grandmother of Christopher, Eric & Rebecca Riedel, Allison & Carly Mello, and Kristina, Nicholas, Charlie & Mikey Miele. Funeral from the Edward V. Sullivan Funeral Home, 43 Winn St., BURLINGTON (Exit 34 off Rt. 128, Woburn side) on Wednesday, April 6 at 9 a.m. Followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Margaret’s Church, 111 Winn St., Burlington at 10 a.m. Visiting hours Tuesday 4-8 p.m. Interment in Chestnut Hill Cemetery, Burlington.
