I had the enjoyment of seeing Ed when he would come to the door to get his mail... I've have been Ed's letter carrier for two years now.... He asked me into his home to see his beautifull picture he had painted... I must say I was very, very impressed.... I loved his Indian pictures.... He was a very dear man and with the way things are with the post office now we are lucky to spend just one minute talking to our customers.... (which is very sad).... I'm sure Ed is hapy now with his wife and may he rest in peace..... I'll miss see him... and his smiling face....... RIP... your letter carrier Valerie

To family/friends, I am so sorry to hear of Mr.Raia's passing. I took care of him while when he was in rehab a couple years ago. We shared many stories, especially about him serving in the Phillippines. He drew me a picture as well! :) He was such a nice man. Patients like Mr.Raia remind me why I became a nurse, and make my career heartfelt and meaningful. May he rest in peace.

I met Eddie about 7 years ago when I became the Belmont Veterans` Services Officer. We hit it off from day one and Eddie quickly became my hero. I've never met a more patriotic american, even in the 20 years I served in the army. I loved his stories, (even when I heard them several times) and I'm so very thankful I had the opportunity to become his friend. His kindness and love of our country was always second to none. I'll miss him deeply and will forever hold him close in my heart. I salute you with pride, Eddie; rest in peace....

My Godfather, Uncle Eddie was a true American who served and loved his country. It was with great pleasure he was a part of my life and the life of my husband John and my two daughters, Heather and Amy. We as other members of his loving wife, Louise's family, opened our hearts and doors to him knowing he was always welcome into our homes anytime, any day and of course over every holiday particular after Louise took ill. He was faithful to my Aunt Louise, who unfortunately sits in a nursing home. He visited her daily always hoping she would be able to come home. He often said we were his family as we were always there for him never wanting him to be alone.
Rest in peace Uncle Eddie. Hold a place near you for Aunt Louise as she will want to be by your side in Heaven.
With all my love...your goddaughter Judy
