Obituary of Bruce Wayne Addison
Bruce Wayne Addison, a longtime employee of the Lahey Clinic Medical Center in Burlington, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, June 24, 2011. He was 48 years old.
Bruce Wayne was born in Somerville. He was raised and educated in Hull. He was a 1981 graduate of Hull High School. After graduation he went to work as an Assistant Mechanic at Logan Airport in Boston. He then went on to work at Lahey Clinic Medical Center in Burlington. He left Lahey Clinic after a few years and moved to Las Vegas. He spent three years dealing Black Jack and Craps and loved it. When his mom was taken ill unexpectedly he immediately left Las Vegas to return home to be with his mom and his family in Burlington. Bruce Wayne returned to the Lahey Clinic where he had a wonderful career of over 20 years. He worked in Central Supply, as a Security Guard and most recently as a Shuttle Driver. Working as a Shuttle Driver he would transport employees from the offsite parking facility to the Hospital. He made his job fun, rewarding and enjoyed entertaining his co-workers. Bruce Wayne would decorate his bus for each holiday – Halloween, Christmas, Valentine’s Day, St. Patrick’s Day, Easter, July 4th and more. He would also have contests for his fellow employees such as “guess how many valentine’s are on the bus” or “guess how many Easter eggs decorate this bus” – the correct answer would receive a gift certificate paid for by Bruce Wayne. People would go on Bruce Wayne’s bus just to see the decorations. Bruce Wayne loved his job and his many friendships at Lahey. Bruce Wayne was a member of the Moose Lodge in Woburn and the Sons of Italy in Winchester where he was known for his “famous chili” that he made for the club members. He was an avid pool player and had received many amateur awards. Bruce Wayne was a happy and outgoing person who never complained. He was always looking to put a smile on someone’s face. Bruce Wayne passed away at an early age but he accomplished everything he wanted to do and more than most people his age.
Bruce Wayne was the beloved son of Bruce & Gloria (Gunnerson) of Burlington. He was the beloved brother of Kim Addison & her fiancé Stephen LaFrance of Malden. Grandson of Louise D. Addison at 100 years of age of Somerville & her late husband Bruce. Nephew of Linda Powers of Burlington. Bruce Wayne also leaves behind a legacy of many friends.
