I first met Billy at the Bowladrome in 1972, we bowled together and against one another for many years. He was one of the most talented bowlers in this area, and his skills were envied by all, as were his achievements and championships. the stories about Billy are memorable, amusing and abundant. He was a fabulous Human Being and we speak of Him fondly and often. The game of bowling has lost one of the really great characters, and we will miss Him. Rest in Peace my Friend. Love, Ray Ray

I met Nelson working at Wal-Mart only to realize a couple months later that he knew & worked with my grandfather, my father, & my Uncle (who he also bowled with). He was one of the kindest, sweetest, & most caring man I'd ever met! My family's thoughts & prayers are with his family. I pray you are no longer suffering & now living it up with all that loved you in heaven! I will think of you every time I hear thunder, hoping it's you getting a strike bowling! RIP Nelson! Goings but, never forgotten. Until we met again! XO

I am so sorry for your loss. He was the sweetest man. I will miss his smile and his laughter. When I would have an early shift, I would see him waving out his truck window from across the parking lot. He always had a kind word for everyone. It is no wonder that he touched so many lives by just being himself. Rest in peace my friend.

I am so saddened to hear of Billy’s passing. I would regularly go to Walmart in Salem and he was always there with a smile on his face. He always said good morning/afternoon/evening when you walked in and always said have a nice day when you left. I never knew his name but he’s left a lasting imprint on my heart. I cannot believe I will not see that smile the next time I make a trip to Walmart. My deepest condolences to his family. He was a wonderful man and will be very missed by countless people. May he Rest In Peace.

I was a year behind Billy in HS and always remember him being the sweetest caring guy and always smilIng. As we moved on in life my husband and I were in Candlepin leagues at the Bowladrome. Billy would always be there. My husband told me he had a game once where Billy bowled Candlepin for 2 strings and Henry bowled Tenpin. Each were bowling opposite of what they normally bowled. They had a great time. He has very fond memories of bowling and always seeing Billy. God Bless You and hit those strikes in Heaven. Deepest Sympathies to his family. We lost a good one. ❤️❤️

My Papa. My hero. If it wasn't for you I wouldn't of made it in this world. You raised me as if I was your own. I've never met my father. You are the only father figure I've ever known. My love for you is endless. I wouldn't be the woman I am today if it wasn't for you and Nuna guiding me along the way. Neither one of you gave up on me even when I was hard to love. Since day one you have worked hard to provide for our family. We may have not had everything but we never went without and I will forever be thankful.
I love you always,
Katie

Billy, my brother from another mother, how do you put into words the 55 years of our friendship and love as brothers, I don't know where to begin, from the bowling alley days to the bowling leagues and N.E.B.A's and other tournaments we drove to and we bowled in, to all the restaurants you and I enjoyed together, thank you for paying for my meals when i was a teenager, lol. Through the years you and I never argued , never got mad at each other, we are brothers with the biggest love for each other any two people can have. Our trips to the dog track, and our 2014 Trip to Vegas, you were there for me , always talking about how I played certain cards and hands when sitting at Foxwoods and in the poker room. Talking about the hands i was dealt at the Tropicana Hotel in Vegas, when I played in the World Poker Tour Amateur Championship in 2014. To all our chats when I would come home from Foxwoods and letting you know how I did.
Again words can't fill this page with 55 years of brotherly love , I hope I have made you proud of me in my ventures, as I have been proud of you in your ventures.
I love you Billy , will miss you greatly , I will make you proud of me playing poker as you watch my poker play and as a person.
RIP Billy, Love you so very much my brother .
Love Steve
