Nancy taught my wife and I to advocate and to fight hard and to never back down when it came to helping a child with learning disabilities. I'm sure she fought to the last. She also brought an incredible sense of humor to difficult times. We'll miss you Nancy, prayers to John and the rest of the family.

To John, Janet, Debbie, Danny, Cathy, grand kids and families - please accept my condolences. I was fortunate to call her my friend (as well as being co-worker) who made our working environment workable. She is certainly one of a kind! A great person who has been taken much too soon. I know she is now at peace. They say God only takes the special ones, He certainly has in taking her. Please know you are all in my thoughts and prayers.

Dearest Hofferty family: We are so sorry to hear of Nany's passing. She was such a great woman, always fighting for causes she so deeply believed in. I remember when my oldest child first started school, she welcomed my family with open arms. She did great things for Burlington and will be truly missed. Sincerely, Linda & Mark Stephan & family

Very sorry to read of Nancy's passing. She was truly a great lady! My fondest memories of Nancy are the many summers that we spent together wearing the "Recreation Green". Nancy was always someone who could make me feel better with her infectious smile and gentle laughter .
