Obituary of Russell Howard Thompson

 Russell Howard Thompson of Burlington, passed away peacefully on July 14^th with his family by his side. He was born in Providence, RI on December 27^th, 1944 as the only child to Ethel Rita (Galvin) and Robert Edward Thompson. He grew up in South Boston and moved to Burlington, VT when he was 14; and upon graduation, he moved to Burlington, MA. It was in neighboring Stoneham where he met Eileen Ruth (Ondrizek), his wife of 52 years. Together they raised 5 children: James & his partner Deb of NH, John & his wife Jennifer of Wilmington, Glenn & his wife Deborah of Tewksbury, Joseph of Framingham, Elizabeth (Thompson) Shelnut & her husband Adam of VA, and Jessica Foss of VA. Grandfather of Andrew, Stephanie, Patrick, Joshua, Aaron, Julia, Ryan, Cameron, Connor, and Kinesha. Great grandfather of Owen, Eden, Avah, Rileigh and Kamyah. He was a Quality Control Engineer at Raytheon for 40 years. Mr. Thompson was a man esteemed and respected, ready to lend a helping hand, and a friend to everyone. He was a member of the Simon W. Robinson Lodge, AF&AM. Visiting hours will be at the Edward V. Sullivan Funeral Home, 43 Winn St., Burlington (exit 34 off Rt. 128/95, Woburn side) on Saturday, August 3 from 11:00 am-2:00 pm; followed by a funeral service at 2:00 pm.
