I worked with Bill at CCAH in the San Francisco office and he was constantly telling funny stories and making everyone in the office laugh. Bill was always in shock that I had never had seen the original Star Wars movie, and I teased him that I never would. Just last weekend I caved and watched it for the first time and I know that he would be proud! Bill was a joy to work with and he will be missed. My deepest condolences to his family during this time.

Bill was a constant in my life for over two decades. It was one long fond memory full of direct mail hijinks and sci-fi reverence. Whether it was the East or West Coast, I knew that Bill was always there. He was my professional security blanket.
I will miss the way his face filled with mirth and mischief as we laughed at an inside joke or the seriousness with which he told me his review of the latest Star Wars movie. He could geek out like no one else and I was just along for the ride. Even now, my memory of him is the extremely detailed instructions of exactly which Rubix cubes (three!) to bring to him from his apartment during his last hospital stay in San Francisco.
It is hard to fathom a world without him. He made a difference in the lives of so many, both through his commitment to his work and his friendships. My heart goes out to his family and all of us who considered him family.
He was a really good person. True, honest and real. The force was strong in him. I will miss him tremendously.
May his memory be a blessing. המקום ינחם אתכם בתוך שאר אבלי ציון וירושלים

I had the pleasure of working with Bill on and off since 2005. I can tell you, there are few folks out there so willing to lend a hand and offer support, assistance, or a kind word and a joke.
We shared many foxholes over the years, burning the midnight oil to deliver for organizations for which we shared a deep passion. Some of my favorite memories of him are from our time working to re-elect President Obama in 2012. His dedication, incredible knowledge, sense of humor and unflappable nature propelled our team. It was such a joy to witness his delight in our successes, and I'm grateful to have memories of him at the 2012 Convention and at White House holiday parties that I'll cherish.
My heart and thoughts go out to his family and loved ones. Bill was a tremendous friend, and he will be dearly missed.

Bill and I worked closely together, every day for the three years I was at CCAH. We spent a lot of time together. Bill was a really passionate person. Whether it was about our accounts, politics, his love for Tom Brady or the Red Sox, or a variety of nerdy/pop-culture rabbit holes that we enjoyed both thoroughly and equally, we shared a lot of laughs together. He was always smiling and upbeat. I had the privilege of seeing Bill this past summer when I was back in town, and he was in great spirits (he had just returned home from ComicCon). I'm happy I get to have that as my last memory ... though deeply saddened to have learned this news. My deepest condolences to his family and friends.

I am so saddened to hear of your loss. I worked with Bill for several years at CCAH and have only the fondest memories of him and his Star Wars passion. He smile and enthusiasm were contagious and he made me smile. We lost another dear colleague - Sam Liesching- many years ago. I am picturing them both in a place without cancer analyzing the latest direct mail test and strategizing how to best campaign performance for their favorite client. Bill will not be forgotten.

Bill was a colleague of mine during the 18 months I worked at CCAH's San Francisco office. We were fellow comics and Star Wars enthusiasts, and he was a welcoming presence in the office. He'll be missed. My deepest condolences to the Goldstein, Goldfarb and Garland families.

Like the 200+ people who had the opportunity to get to know and work with Bill at Adams Hussey & Associates (now CCAH ), I was very saddened to hear of his passing. And I want to offer our family’s deepest condolences to his family. He will be truly missed and our hearts are aching at the news of his passing.
I worked with Bill for a very long time on a wide variety of great causes and I had tremendous respect for him — as a very talented fundraiser as well as a warm and kind person. A real mensch.
Please also know that his clients loved him very much as well. He was always reliable and trustworthy. And he had a tremendous track record in fundraising.
Despite the often difficult marketing challenges he faced, Bill was never flustered. Never without a clear path forward and he had all of the skills to accomplish it. He in fact made success look easy (when it’s not).
I can’t tell you how comforting it was to hear Bill say “I’m on it” when given a difficult task. That meant it would get done & his clients would be impressed by his results. His accomplishments also got the attention and gained admiration of his peers and competitors in direct marketing, and Bill won many well-deserved fundraising awards over the past two decades. And we all appreciate him choosing to devote his considerable skills and enthusiasm to helping the many nonprofits that benefited from his wisdom and experience.
I will also miss his enthusiasm for Comic Con and laughing at his many Star Wars references. And I cannot thank him enough for all he did for so many worthy causes and for just being a friend!
Our feelings of loss are quite heavy at this time. And we hope our favorite memories of him will sustain us and remind us of both the meaning and fragility of life as well as how we can all continue to dedicate ourselves to making this a better and kinder world by following his example in direct marketing.
With deepest sympathy for our favorite action figure,
Greg Adams

I remember when Bill was hired at CCAH and always admired his cheerful demeanor and strong work ethic. His intense loyalty to the company and its staff were a breath of fresh air in an industry people change companies a lot. I continued to follow his career over the years. Bill was a kind and gentle man and a success in every sense of the word. My sincere condolences to his family, friends and colleagues. May his memory be a comfort to all.

I had the privilege and pleasure of working with Bill at Adams, Hussey & Associates (CCAH). Bill was a genuine and kind person. Not only was he dedicated to his work, but he truly cared about the causes of the organizations. I had a chance to get to know Bill’s fun side when he shared stories about his college adventures. He was an all-around good guy. I’m sorry to hear of his passing and I would like to extend my deepest condolences to his family.

I knew Bill from college, where we lived only a few doors apart and shared the same close group of friends. I have many happy memories from those days and Bill was always a good friend. Graduation took our lives in different directions until we reconnected through Facebook. I loved seeing his wonderful photographs of San Francisco, a city he loved. He's gone too soon and many will miss him. My sincere condolences to all his family.

Dear CCAH’ers,
It is with profound sadness that I announce the loss of one of our fellow CCAH family members, Bill Goldstein. Bill passed away this morning after a valiant fight against cancer this past year.
Bill has been a part of the CCAH Family for over two decades! His work over the years has had profound impact on some of the most critical issues facing our country. His accomplishments for animal rights, Democratic principles and international children’s medical care is unmatched.
I personally had the pleasure of working with Bill on the Dem National Committee program for several years and he led the team with me to help re-elect President Obama in 2012. Anyone who ever worked with Bill understands when I say he was unflappable. He was always calm and cool in the face of crisis and when he committed to something, it got done.
One of Bill’s most favorite adventures was Comic Con and he was determined to attend the biggest event over this past summer before he started his last round of treatment. Bill also had an appreciation for Sci-Fi that was unmatched. And I’m not sure George Lucas knows more about Star Wars than Bill G.
There was never a time in these past 23 years when Bill didn’t step up when the company needed leadership. When we needed a senior team leader in San Fran he said, “my bags are packed”. He fell in love with San Francisco and never looked back to the DC area except to visit family and friends. San Fran was his home away from home.
The last time I saw Bill in person he was in town for his niece’s Bat Mitzvah. He was walking up and down the hall saying hi to old friends and introducing himself to the “new kids on the block”.
A few of us will be heading to Boston on Thursday to celebrate Bill with his family. He was very close to his family and always “showed up”.
I know that you will join me in extending to Bill’s family and friends our most sincere condolences during this difficult time.

It has been way too many years since I'd seen Bill. After working with him at (then) Adams Hussey & Associates and in later years as his client, life took us in different directions. We were peers, colleagues, and friends. I am so very sorry to hear the news of his passing. He was kind and funny. He was dedicated to the kinds of causes and issues that are important to those of us who do this work. And he was quite good at it. I can only imagine the millions of dollars he helped raise and the people, places, and animals that are better because of his work. That is just a fraction of his legacy.
Bill - you will be missed. My heart is heavy. Your family and your presence will remain in my thoughts.
