Obituary of William Eric Goldstein
William Eric Goldstein, a Vice President of Client Services at Chapman, Cubine, Adams, & Hussey passed away after a long battle with cancer on Monday morning, October 28, 2019. He was just 48 years old.
Bill was born in Boston, the son of Robert and Barbara Goldstein. He grew up in Burlington. He was a member of Burlington High School Class of 1989 where he excelled in his studies and was a member of the track team, debate team, and drama club. He went off to American University in Washington D.C. where he earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Communications and Media Studies in 1993. Upon graduation he worked first for a speakers bureau, which scheduled and provided support to authors before taking an accounts representative position with Chapman, Cubine, Adams, & Hussey (CCAH) located first in Washington, DC and then in Arlington Virginia. CCAH does fundraising for nonprofits. Bill worked for all sorts of clients including Sierra Club, World Jewish Congress, Hillel and the Democratic National Committee, and countless other nonprofits, charities, and political campaigns. He excelled in his career and rose to Vice President. Bill relocated to San Francisco, California over ten years ago to work in CCAH’s West Coast office.
Bill had a number of interests over the years. During college, he became deeply involved in Tae Kwon Do where he earned his black belt – breaking many boards along the way. He was a huge comics, science fiction and Star Wars fan. Living on the West Coast, he attended the San Diego Comic Con several times where he had the opportunity to meet some of his favorite actors and collect some fascinating science fiction objects. He was also a lifelong video gamer, Dungeons and Dragon role player, photographer, and Rubik’s Cube solver.
He was diagnosed with cancer about ten years ago and through extensive treatment put it into remission, only to have it recur in 2018. He continued to work at a job he loved until he had to stop working in September when he moved back east to be with family.
Bill was the beloved son of Barbara Goldstein of Billerica, formerly of Burlington and the late Robert Goldstein. He was the brother of James Goldstein & his wife Dawn of Bethesda, MD. He was the loving uncle of Judith Ellen and Sara Beth Goldstein of Bethesda, MD. He was the nephew of Robert & Francine Goldfarb of W. Hartford, CT, the late Ken Garland and Laura Kendall Garland. He also leaves many cousins, friends, and coworkers.
