Lois, or "Cousin Babe" as our family called her, was my Mother's, (Ann David Young) first cousin. My mother had many fond childhood memories of Babe and they stayed in touch throughout the years of their adulthood as well. I always enjoyed speaking with her. Her lively mind and interest in others was so delightful. The pleasure she took in her numerous puppies through the years was lovely as well. I shall miss her sweet, positive presence.

We are saddened to learn of the loss of Lois. She kept us Smith ladies in line, making sure we paused each spring and fall in our busy lives to take time for each other, and cherish our Smith bonds of friendship. She will indeed be missed! I shall remember the first time I met Lois, in my living room, as I hosted my first Mystic Valley Smith Club fall potluck. My baby Peter, a few months old at that time, enjoyed being bounced on Lois's lap and she was equally delighted with him! It was a moment I shall not forget, the older generation having some fun with the next. Thank you Lois for being the centerpiece of our club, and memories of you will be with us always.
