Marty and I are so sorry in learning of Joe’s passing. Joe has been our Attorney since 1980. He had a fabulous memory and always knew who you were when you called him for his advice and help. We referred him to many as he was such a great guy! Kind, ethical and caring. I’m a Nurse so Joe did share his medical struggles with me. Joe surely took his heart transplant in stride. I loved his sense of humor!! There is no doubt he adored his family and took great pride in them!
I know this is months later but we send our condolences and love to his Ginny and family! We shall miss knowing he’s not an email or phone call away! Please know we are thinking of you during difficult days!! I was so fond of Joe!
With great sadness
Lindy and Marty Ryan. Burlington Ma

I think Joe loved his life, I know he loved his family deeply as the prime source of his life's purpose and satisfaction. Joe was truly one of the good guys in this world who treated people with a kindness, humility and helpfulness that is rare for most but was a constant for Joe.
Who knew in 1964 when we formed the Leafmen in our freshman year at BC that it was the beginning of rock-solid friendships that would literally last a lifetime. Our Leafmen journey was a long and amazing adventure that continued until just a few months ago when Joe was no longer able to play online. There is something almost indescribable about "making music with my friends". I loved the comment in his obituary that we would play for anyone who would have us. Joe just loved to play. He was an excellent musician and an even more exceptional friend.
We were honored that Joe was like family to Joanne and me, available to offer support in whatever way he could when any of us were struggling. Well, we are all struggling now with Joe's loss, and I'm sure it is just of fraction of what Ginny, David, Allison and the whole family are experiencing. It seems too soon to have Joe leave this life. I so admire the courage and calm resolve Joe showed with his heart transplant over a decade ago, and more recently with accepting the devastating but predictable side effects of the medication that helped preserve his life for so many years. I am so pleased that we could be a part of Joe's life, and that he had those extra years to live fully and lovingly.
Be at peace my friend. We miss you already, and will think about you often with smiles and gratitude.
Will all our love, Sal and Joanne

My name is Mike, and I had the privilege of “managing” the Leafmen, and more importantly bonding with 4 great lads, one of whom was head and shoulders above our other guitarists in talent, professionalism and humility. May he Rest In Peace. MFM

My name is Ron, the last addition to the Leafmen about 30 years ago.. For those who never played in a band it is a uniquely intimate group. Truly a Band of Brothers.
When I first met Joe with the other members, Tom, Larry and Sal I was humbled by thier welcome. I'm a gutiar player but after watching Joe I was a bit intimidated.
I never tired watching him , he made great music. At this time of sorrow I can't think of a better way to remember such a good person and listen to the CD we made and play some of our songs.
His genuine warmth set him apart but Joe was also dead honest and said what he thought. I will miss him.
Now we all know Joe had an off the hook sence of humor, he referred to as Black humor. So Joe in that sprit , we finally made Ed Sullivan's!
Rest in peace,
C

Ginny, David and Alison, I am so sorry to hear of the passing of Joe. He was such a wonderful person to all. I have such fond memories of Leafmen shows and many dinners at the house during our college years when Alison would invite me along for a home cooked meal. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you.
