Nancy Woodman

Obituary of Nancy R Woodman

Nancy R. Woodman passed away at Care Dimensions in Lincoln on Saturday morning, September 19, 2020.  She was 80 years old. The daughter of the late George and Isobel Woodman, Nancy was born, raised and educated in Waltham.

Nancy had a long career in banking.  She started at the age of 18 as a teller,  was promoted to a branch manager and ended her career in 1988 as an executive assistant to the senior staff at Bay Bank. She loved her job at Bay Bank and made many lifelong friends there.

For over 20 plus years, Nancy enjoyed the companionship of her life partner  William E. Bent, who passed away in 2013. Together they shared the most wonderful memories and supported each other through many challenging times in each of their lives.

Nancy was a homebody who dearly loved her Burlington neighborhood.  She loved her house, garden and her cats, Rudy, George and Chessie. Her neighbors were more like her family. She had a special bond with her next door neighbor, Senada and her family with whom she spent all her holidays. Senada was like the daughter she never had. She was even godmother to Senada's son, David.  Nancy enjoyed going out to eat at the local restaurants in Burlington, doing crossword puzzles, working in her garden and playing her father’s piano.  She was an afficianado of old movies, and loved to laugh and sing. Nancy will be remembered as a kind and generous woman, always smiling, who “Lived to Love and be Loved.”

She was the sister of the late Scott Woodman.  She is survived by her cousin Barbara Gale of Canada.  Nancy will be sorely missed by her dear friends Alex and Senada Zaganjori & their children David & Nadia of Burlington, William E. Bent, Jr. & his wife Joanna, and Robert J. Bent & his wife Nancy, all of Arlington, Alice Bent of Watertown, Diane and Chris Curtis of Ohio and Barbara Kelly and Family of Arlington. Nancy will also be fondly remembered by many wonderful and caring neighbors. Funeral services will be private.
