Thank you Grampy for all the fun memories growing up! I'll always remember dinners and holidays at your house. Or hanging around in the backyard, exploring down in the basement. Remember the five or so Frisbees we found? And a short while later, I believe a few ended up on the roof. Or the time you asked me to get you a bourbon and ice and to make myself one too. We sat on the deck, in the screen house and I swallowed a mouthful and thought my throat was on fire... You were laughing so hard! I'll stick to gentler drinks. I think I was able to breathe fire for a couple of hours later. The Pats are on now, and they're doing very well. Hopefully they can hold off Texas and then we can continue the winning streak on home turf. Thank goodness we could talk about football. Never mind... Texas scored. I loved listening to your stories about chasing Grammy and how you asked her to dance because you thought she was the most beautiful girl in the room. And how you drove so far to just see her, but when you got into a car accident, you asked her to marry you so you guys didn't have to travel to be together.
But out of all the little memories I have of you all my life, I'm thankful I had a wonderful Grampy who was always funny, loving and supportive. That I always remember the most. I'm sad you are no longer here, but I have comfort knowing your with Grammy, Uncle Robert and all our other angels in Heaven. I love you.
Love, Lauren
Next time I see you, make mine a glass of wine. No bourbon for this gal.
