Obituary of Robert Crevo
Robert J. Crevo, a retired salesman, passed away after a short illness at the Merrimack Valley Hospice House in Haverhill on Thursday morning, January 10, 2013. He would have celebrated his 86th birthday on January 20th.
Robert was born and raised in Franklin, Massachusetts. He was the son of Italian immigrants, the late James and Inez Crevo. He was a graduate of Franklin High School. He attended Rutgers University before enlisting in the Army Air Corps. He was a member of the 44th Air Supply Depot and was the recipient of the Army of the Occupation Medal and World War II Victory Medal. He worked most of his career as a salesman in the wall covering industry. He also taught classes in wallpapering and painting. He had a keen eye for design and style trends. Robert had a bit of an adventurous side. After the war, he went and earned his Pilot’s License. He spent many hours at Norfolk Airport flying small planes. When courting his future wife, Virginia, some of his dates where spent flying. He was a lifetime member of the Woburn Sportsman’s Association. He was a resident of Burlington since 1955 and had recently moved to Newburyport. He always had a appreciation for art, he often sketched played the harmonica, and accordion. He had a great devotion to his wife, Virginia, who passed away in May of 2011 which made the past year and a half extremely lonely. Robert was the devoted husband of the late Virginia M. (Watterson) Crevo. He was the loving father of Kathleen Bellini & her husband Nicholas of Amesbury, Christine Thorstensen & her husband Eric of Billerica, and the late Robert J. Jr. Brother of Charles & his wife Rosalie of Wellesley. He was the proud grandfather of Lauren Prince of Chelmsford, Kara Thorstensen of Nashua, NH and Phillip Bellini of Boston.
A visiting hour will be held at the Edward V. Sullivan Funeral Home, 43 Winn St., BURLINGTON (Exit 34 off Rt. 128, Woburn side) on Monday, Jan. 14 from 10 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. Followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Margaret’s Church, 111 Winn St., Burlington at 11:30 a.m. Interment in Pine Haven Cemetery, Burlington.
