Mirka - you took me to my first Polish happy hour, introduced me to pickle soup, and brought me back the best souvenirs from your travels. You were generous and thoughtful and new which town had the best fair food. I wish I had another chance to tell you how much your friendship meant to me. Rest in peace.

Mirka was so strong for so long. Her love of life made it difficult to remember that she was sick. When sharing our stories, as friends do, the love of her family was evident. She spoke of her father with childlike adoration of a daddy's girl. She admired and loved her husband. But nothing compares to her love of little Stasiu (sorry Xena!).
