Obituary of Eleanor Hanright
Eleanor Hanright passed away at the age of 96 on Sunday evening, February 3, 2013. Eleanor was born in Boston, the daughter of Italian immigrants, the late Umberto and Desolina (Resmini) Trombi. She grew up in Somerville and was a longtime resident of Malden. She made her home in Burlington for a time before moving to Carleton-Willard Village in Bedford, where she was lovingly cared for. Eleanor worked as a secretary for Draper Labs in Cambridge for over 25 years. She previously worked at M.I.T Labs. Eleanor loved her home and her family. She was the devoted wife of the late Charles E. “Ned” Hanright. She had an extremely close bond with her daughter, Cheryl. Cheryl was quite ill for much of her life and Eleanor was always there to care for her. Eleanor and Cheryl enjoyed vacationing together and often would bring a great niece or nephew along with them. Eleanor loved shopping, especially in Boston. She didn’t drive, so she would hop on a bus and spend the day in Boston looking for just the right outfit or special gift. Unlike most people, Eleanor loved doing housework and her home was always impeccably maintained. She appreciated the kindness and companionship offered to her by all of her family and healthcare providers.
Eleanor was the beloved wife of the late Charles E. “Ned” Hanright. She was the loving mother of the late Cheryl Hanright. She was the sister of the late Peter Salvi, Edith Perachi, Armando Trombi, and Rena Mattuchio. Loving Aunt of Ronald Perachi of Burlington, Sheila Loridas of Somerville, Christine Bridle of Haverhill, Jack Mattuchio of Pepperell, Robert Mattuchio of Malden and the late Richard Mattuchio.
She was also survived by many great nieces and nephews. A Memorial Service will be held at the Carleton-Willard Village, 100 Old Billerica Rd, Bedford on Thursday, February 7 at 2 p.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Eleanor’s name may be made to Alzheimer's Association Massachusetts/New Hampshire, 480 Pleasant Street, Watertown, MA 02472. Arrangements by the Edward V. Sullivan Funeral Home, BURLINGTON.
