I met Rick at mitre corp when he first started
I worked in the kitchen at mitre and Rick would come in and we would talk. Since I lived in bedford at one time we kind of knew some people from there. I would wait on him when he would come in and would talk about donna and his parents. He was a nice guy and very talkative. I retired from there last May so I had no idea that he was sick. I know he's with the angels and my condoloscenes go out to donna and family.

I first met Rick in June 2003 when we were looking for renting an apartment and actually we rented the one at his house at Bedford.
My family enjoyed living close to Donna and Rick for several years, till we moved out in 2008.
We enjoyed so much their company while having dinner together on the deck of their house or while meeting with his relatives, in particular his dad and mom and his brother Don and family.
Rick was so nice with us, new comers from Italy, and we felt very much welcomed by all his family.
After we left his home I can't forget the many times we met for dinner or for visiting his relatives, in particular Don's family.
It was a wonderful time spent with him, talking to him of all our different experience, appreciating his ability to speak a little of Italian.
When we moved to Italy in 2014 we had Rick and Donna visiting us for vacation.
We took a wonderful trip all over Italy and we spent a few days also with my mom and my brother's family at the seaside.
What I can say about Rick, he was a wonderful pleasant person open to talk about everything and knowledgeable of so many different topics.
He was also an excellent cook. I can't forget how he could cook ribeye steaks while teaching us all details to get best result.
Late summer last year we heard from him about the disease but we felt him confident to succeed to fix it with surgery and treatments.
Unfortunately we heard from him about the need of further surgery early this summer and sadly the latest news.
Our deepest condolences to Donna, and all his family.
Our prayer for Rick.

Richard Elliott was a member of the Lexington Boston Sports Club for decade. I met him in the club’s swimming pool and among other friends in Jacuuzi, we discussed event of the day/week ranging from politics, gun violence, sports, green energy movement, and other topics. I found him to be smart, family man, and eager to learn new things. Since I had worked for Lincoln Laboratory years ago, we shared some of our experiences with MITRE and MITLL. I invited him to look at the green energy concept and soon became an associate with my company.
Because of his Italian background, I was intrigued learning a few words of the language; likewise, he learned a few words in my native language of Persian. I soon learned about his late father who as a Minuteman, dressed in the early American uniform and appeared in many local/regional events including the April 19th battle of Lexington in the Center. Last year, he informed me of his battle with a brain tumor and an eventual surgery and chemotherapy. I tried providing comfort, hope, and giving advice to fight back and win. It is unfortunate to witness cancer has the upper hand no matter how hard you fight back. Rick passed away on September 29, 2021 after a long time battle with brain tumor following a second brain surgery in early August of this year.
I extend my deepest sympathies to his wife, Donna and Rick’s family. May the soul of Rick be at peace and I pray that God will grant Donna and the family the strength. My most sincere condolences. God Bless his soul.

I worked with Rick when I first came to MITRE. He was instrumental in showing me the ropes and was very knowledgeable regarding operations. He was dedicated individual professionally and personally within everything he did. He was kind of a jack of all trades and impressively knowledgeable in many topics. Most impressive was his knowledge and interest with machinery and how to repair various items. A creative thinker and problem solver. During my time with Rick I never saw him in a bad mood and we had many great conversations. My prayers for Rick and his family.

Jim and I send our sincere condolences to the Elliott family on the loss of Rick. Although it has been several years since we have seen him and other family members our memories are always there remembering his quiet smile and contageous laughter. He may have been the youngest of the brothers but his identity was distinct in his caring for others and his joy at family outings
