In the early 70s I was impressed seeing Bob in the wbz trailer during the Xmas week broadcast from the south shore shopping plaza. I often listened to his WBZ broadcasts WHILE I COMMUTED TO MY YMCA JOB AND COLLEGE AT UMASS BOSTON. the 1968 rambler only had the am radio.
He and others like Jerry Williams made great Boston radio that I’ll always treasure.

I was a newspaper delivery guy in Syracuse NY in 1993 when I was fortunate to come across Mr Raleigh overnight show. Made me hustle to get back home so I could call. Was able to speak with him a couple times and to this feel honored to heaven able to. Although we never met I always felt him to be a friend. I was also married at St Margaret’s. RIP Bob.

I was a young state trooper that started in 1992 assigned to the midnight shift. I listened to Bob, and he brought me safely through my shift every night. Thank you for the memories and company throughout my first years on the job.

Played the trivia phone game with him many times.
Listened to him every night over the years as well.
Wish I could have met him.
In my heart he was a dear friend and a very good man
Rest in peace, Tiger Bob.

Bob Raleigh was such an important part of my life when I was an awkward middle-schooler. He would actually take my calls in the morning....mentioned me on air a few times (I always wanted him to be quiet when Carly Simon said "son of a gun" in Your So Vain".....he would play it and say "Did you hear.....son of a gun?") My friend Linda and I were over the moon to go the the WEEL station to meet him. I wish that I could have told him this. Love to your family, Lin

I am so sorry for your loss! Bob was a genuine great man and broadcaster. When I was a student at Emerson College, Bob took time after he got off the air to review my aircheck tapes and help me become a great broadcaster. I could never thank him enough for his kindness and the time he took to help me! RIP Bob

Dear Steve and Gregg and families,
Hearing of your Dad's passing was devastating to both of us. How fondly we remember both your Mom and Dad at Greggs wedding and Steve's party. How proud and happy they both were when the grandchildren were born, and how they always asked about our family and our children and grandchildren. Having lunch with your Mom and Dad and dinners with them was such a joy! They were very special to us,,and will be greatly missed. We know that they are together in Heaven and are looking down on all of us and smiling. May the Lord comfort you at this time.
All our love,
Sandy and Jerry Evans

Stephen and Gregg please accept my heartfelt condolences. Your dad was an excellent man and radio host.
As a teenager in the late 80s I used to listen to him overnight when I could - he came in loud and clear all the way up here in Toronto. I remember being so happy when I answered a trivia question and won a Bob Raleigh pen. I wrote him a fan letter and he was kind enough to respond - he sent me a nice hand written letter and offered to give me and my friends a tour of the station if we were ever in Boston. He honestly felt like a friend. His kindness and warmth shone through whenever he was on the air.
I just lost my own dad this past January. It hurts but I can tell you, your dad will live on in your hearts.
May he rest in peace.
Sincerely,
Patrick O’Neill

Steve, Gregg and family - such a wonderful tribute to a remarkable man, husband, father and grandfather. I loved seeing his smile in those pictures along with the many photos of your Dad, your Mom and family. I have so many fond memories of both he and your Mom growing up and I'll cherish them forever. He undoubtedly touched your lives everyday and he meant so much to so many people who only knew him through his voice on the radio.
Sending love to all of you during this trying time.
Rich Mello and Family.

I was a caller on his talk show. Bob was wonderful to me when I was young. I was "Melanie from Pennsylvania." He made a cart of me singing the theme from Gilligan's Island and would play that thing just to lighten the mood. He was kind-hearted, loving, and cared for his audience, and he was the very definition of "mensch." Love you, Bob. Rest in peace.
