So very sad and shocked to hear of David’s passing. He was such a great friend and he and his family kept me safe and at times off the streets and protected….like a brother/son. I regret not spending much more time in life with him and his wonderful family! I was running around trying to make something of myself but in came with a high price….. I hope we do go fishing again and we get your Dad to come with us…. Mr. Wyatt I think enjoyed having me around because I made both of you look a lot smarter….. hence the nickname Mr. Wyatt gave me….. “puddin head”!!! And Mrs. Wyatt ….what a nice and gentle soul!!! I could go on writing lots more but I will save room for others to contribute. When it’s my turn to leave Earth, I have very short list of people to think about and reflect on how they helped me make it to senior adulthood and that is the Wyatt family of my hometown too….”Medfa”
In tears, Richard “Rick… puddin head” Smith

I met Dave on a snowy morning when I was 2 years old. My family had just moved in next door to the Wyatt family on good old Norton Ave. Dave was like a big brother to me. We spent summers playing hide and seek, fishing, playing board games. Dave, Jim Benoit and I went on a lot of fishing adventures at the river, Brooks Pond, the Mystic Lakes, and the occasional trip out to the harbor. And yes, Jim Brown, “The Gup” joined in on a lot of the adventures as well. And let’s not forget our wrestling days at Medford High.
There wasn’t a better place to grow up as a kid. Norton Ave. was like one big family. Dave, you had some bad breaks and you deserved better. You had a heart of gold and I will always love you and your family.

Many great Norton Ave., Brooks Pond and MHS Wrestling Team memories. We shared a lot of laughs, many at my expense. You had a big impact, and acted like a big brother to me & my buddy John Clinton. Keep your rod tip up, and Rest In Peace.

Your laughter was contagious. A little brother in your family, yet a big brother to the rest of us kids on the street. Our hearts are broken and our thoughts are overwhelmed with the shock of your passing. Rest easy our dear friend. Your smile is forever etched in our memories. You will remain forever in our hearts. Love your family next door.

My family has been friends, no we're family, with the Wyatt's my entire 65 years. David and I new each other as young children, but saw each other from time-to-time as adults and he always had a smile for my Nana Lee and me. He was a great guy and I know this is a great loss for the family. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all. In God's Love, Michelle MacIntosh for the Page, Paquet families.
