Millie was my mother-in-law Marion Kuczynski's best friend, and I think there was hardly a day when they didn't talk, either in person or on the phone. Marion passed away several years ago, but I'm sure that when Millie joined her in Heaven, there were lots of hugs and kisses happening there! My condolences to Millie's sons, daughters-in-law, and grandchildren--she was a lovely woman who touched many hearts.

Always smiling, so positive, loved everybody! I was blessed to be Millie and Al’s Godchild . I have so many memories …
For my first communion she made me a beautiful decorated cake, it was a work of art.
I especially love our times at York Beach, riding the waves and then relaxing playing bocce and chatting away while working through the snack bag she brought.
She loved my boys, and they loved her back.
Heaven will be blessed.

We were blessed to be neighbors of Mr. and Mrs. Mayo. From the beginning our parents (Tony and Marion Kuczynski) shared common bonds and friendship. I (Ed Kuczynski, the son) remember our Dads sharing tools and working on each others cars. There was always good natured joking about whats taking you so long, etc. Our mothers spent time together and frequently (almost every day) either spoke on the phone or in person. I remember going over to the Petrino's pool with the Mayo's and spending an entire summer swimming every day while our mothers talked. Our parents became the best of friends and always helped each other out. I thought that having neighbors like the Mayo's was the norm. But growing up and moving to a house in Burlington, I learned it was not. They were very special neighbors that set the bar so high, no one has come anywhere close. When my parents passed away, I know they were sorely missed. Later in life I saw that all their sons had grown up to become honest, moral, responsible and helpful men. They are all a credit to their parents, and the likes this world needs more of. It showed the fantastic job the parents had done with their children. After my parents passed, I would still see Mr. Mayo who was still cheery and we would speak for awhile. Later after he passed, I would sometimes see Mrs. Mayo who was also in good spirits, and we briefly spoke. They were great Catholics who were active in their parish and I'm sure were met at the gates by Christ with my parents right behind to welcome them. Life is short, keep the Catholic faith, make our parents proud and we will be with them again some day soon. My condolences to the sons and extended family (wives, grandchildren, great-grandchildren) for the loss of your Mother, grandmother. The good she has done will go on forever. I will never forget the blessing to be a neighbor of the Mayo's.

So sorry to hear about Aunt Mildred’s passing. We are left with many amazing memories from all the family gatherings and riding the waves at York Beach. Please take comfort in all the joy she gave to your families. It is all she lived for. She will be truly missed. I have posted one of my favorite pictures after running off the beach because of a thunderstorm at York Beach!
